Are you sure you weren’t separated at birth?

There are some people that you see on TV, and then you see someone that looks just like them. Except unlike the topic of yesterday’s post, they’re the other gender. And they’re not even related. Ever had that? There’s one I’ve been thinking about for a while, and while looking for photos in order to make this image, found that Google Images actually suggested I search for the two of them together. For anyone in the UK, it’s rather obvious: John Sergeant and Jo Brand, of course!

John Sergeant and Jo Brand
Jo Brand & John Sergeant. Or is it the other way around?

Brand is a very deadpan, snarky, and – in my humble opinion – hilarious comedian. Sergeant is a journalist or something? These days he’s on The One Show and has danced (badly) in Strictly Come Dancing. Could be twins! Don’t know the age difference between the two, but gosh, they do look very similar.

Another one I didn’t think of until today, when I watched The Prestige. I saw the judge and thought “HOLY CRAP IT’S MRS THORNTON, EXCEPT IT’S A BLOKE!”

Trying to find out who the man is, I had to laugh at myself because I didn’t realise who he was until I saw what else he’d been in. Only a sitcom that I have probably watched at least 90% of all the episodes and loved his character. Butler Niles in The Nanny! In real life, he’s called Daniel Davis, and Mrs Thornton is of course Sinéad Cusack.

Eerie, especially since they’re not related (to my knowledge) and they’re of different genders. It gets downright scary with these two guys posing next to each other, even if you disregard the fact that one of them is a painting here:

Eli Roth and a painting of Zachary Quinto
“We can kill you with our brains.”

Eli Roth and Zachary Quinto. Both looking rather murderous. And I do realise this is now turning into the one thread you’re guaranteed to see on any actor’s message board on IMDb. If you’ve ever seen those message boards (edit: they closed down in 2017), you know the one I mean. The “LOOK LIKE” thread. Often, there’s more than one thread. Here’s another one grabbed straight off there:

David Giuntoli and Brandon Routh
Wow, Superman, you’re looking Grimm!

If not twins, at least closely related, probably brothers. Must be the hair. And the chin. And the nose. They’re David Giuntoli and Brandon Routh, and to my knowledge, not related.

The last picture I’ll present today are perhaps not too similar on these particular pictures, aside from how the helmet frames their faces, but when I saw The Avengers (or Avengers Assemble, or simply Awesome for short), there were times where I was struck by how much Tom Hiddleston looked like a dark-haired Michael Fassbender:

Michael Fassbender as Magneto and Tom Hiddleston as Loki
“I can kill you with my brain.”
“Woah, déjà vu.”

There are definitely more where these came from, but these are the ones for now.

Do they look similar to you too? Do you have any other “should be related but aren’t” suggestions?

Traxy

An easily distracted and over-excited introvert who never learns to go to bed at a reasonable time. Enjoys traveling (when there's not a plague on), and taking photos of European architecture. Cares for cats, good coffee and Boardwalk Empire. A child of her time, she did media studies in school and still can't decide what she wants to be when she grows up.
